Teachers should have the flexibility to make a free response comment on a subject report in addition to the global statements generated by the computer for a given block of criteria. This means that the report is made up of attaiment levels described in a short piece of text and a statement which is freely typed into the computer by the teacher. Spell checking helps prevent errors and the writing is always legible.
A separate sheet can be printed with attendance figures or other statistics and general information that the school feels are important.
